I am a 66-year-old woman who has led a life full of adventures. Later in life, I developed some health issues that changed my physical abilities to the point that I wasn’t even sure who I was anymore. Sitting in my living room, staring at the walls, I wondered, is this all?
And I realized, emphatically, NO. I am not done. I’m still the same curious, “hold my tea and watch this” kind of person I always was.
So I started looking. How can I get out into the world, explore, and travel with this body?
I happened across YouTube videos of people converting minivans into campers, and my mind started racing with possibilities. A minivan: easy to get in and out of, easy to park, with a smooth, comfortable ride. And my own tiny bed, kitchen, and bathroom set up? Oh my gosh, yes please!
My vision is to buy the minivan, set it up for comfortable travel, and go explore. Not popular destinations—been there, done that. I’m interested in the quirky places: places with unique history, spooky stories, and interesting landmarks. And anything that makes me smile, just because.
I have two spoiled dogs who will share my adventures with me. A stately, 100-pound senior Doberman named Zeus, and a young chaos queen of a Patterdale terrier named Sissy. Managing the two of them in a minivan will be an adventure all on its own, and the inspiration for much laughter, I’m sure.
I haven’t even bought the minivan yet. But I’ve got a solid plan, two dogs, and a whole lot of curiosity.
Seems like a pretty good place to start.
